In Mousim Mitra‘s water color paintings called “Nature Tales” the beauty of nature unfolds in its various moods. Often meditative or mysterious, a sense of motion is present in its stillness. Through Nature Tales Mousim explored the truth in these forms and the oneness with it felt through his experiences.
Eminent painter Ms. Shobha Broota said, “The overall paintings are very appealing. Most of them have the power of taking you in another realm within. The simplicity and color quality both are extremely powerful. The freshness in application reveals spontaneity and surety of vision. Although somewhere the additional uses of realistic elements like figures and somewhere boats (not everywhere) are taking away the strength and depth of Mousim’s works, which is otherwise very strong and powerful.”
‘Nature Tales’ delves in portraying the contrast in nature- brightness and darkness, stillness and motion, solid form of huge rocks and tranquility of water, solitude in boats and restlessness of a sea or river, energetic red and cold black.
