ShowUsYourType Call for Entries – the vibrant city of Mexico City

ShowUsYourType after the successful poster call on the theme ‘Athens’ is so ever happy to announce their next call, the vibrant city of Mexico City. Mexico City is a highly populated, high-altitude capital of Mexico which is full of soul, attitude, hospitality, culture, history and of course flavours like nowhere else. Participants, through creativity and typography, should design posters representing the chosen cities, which, this time, is Mexico City.

ShowUsYourType was honoured to invite the long time ShowUsYourType contributor and Mexico City native Gabriel Pulpo to design their cover art for the new call “Mexico City”. Gabriel gave us an insight into the thoughts behind the design:

“The design inspiration comes from the tradicional mexican toys, mad of wooden pieces and always with amazing colours. Mexico City is a big metropolis where history and modernity coexist, complex and fascinating with a lot of colourful neighbourhoods.”

And of course, see all his previous ShowUsYourType posters here

The objective of the ShowUsYourType poster calls is to promote the design of posters describing the participating cities (Marseille, Genoa, Athens and now Mexico City) in a characteristic style of them. The only requirement was that the creation must contain the name of the chosen place.
